My Very Own Shoes

Today’s post is not gonna be about photography, even though there is some photography involved. This is the short story of my own uniqe pair of Nike® sneakers.

Discovering Nike By You

A while ago, I discovered a way to design my own pair of sneakers, infusing them with vibrant colors that mirror my happiness and hopefully my personality.

Nike® By You is a customization service that empowers you to design your own shoes, allowing you to choose everything from the color and materials to the silhouette. This service was just for one or two models of sneakers when it first became public, but nowadays you can design a whole range of Nike® products, in any way you can imagine.

The Design Process: Infusing Personal Touches

The process of designing my Nike® By You sneakers was both exciting and fulfilling. Here's a step-by-step look at how I brought my vision to life:

Selecting the Base Model: I began by choosing a classic silhouette that resonated with my style. As mentioned, today Nike offers a variety of models to choose from, each serving as a blank canvas for customization.
Choosing Colors and Materials: This was the most enjoyable part. I selected a palette of vibrant colors that represent my personality and happiness. Nike® By You provides a wide range of materials and colors, allowing for endless possibilities. The only problem is that you can (you will) spend many many hours until you are happy with the result. In my opinion, it will be really hard to end up with a result you won’t like, so the final choice may be more than 2 or 3 orders at once.
Adding Personal Details: To make the sneakers truly mine, I added a personal ID—a combination of letters that hold special meaning to me. This of course was my Nickname “NIDIBOU”; only problem was that there is a limit of 6 characters, so I had to be creative: ND and BOU.
Reviewing and Ordering: After finalizing the design, I reviewed every detail to ensure it matched my vision. Once satisfied, I placed the order and eagerly awaited the arrival of my custom sneakers.
A nice surprise: The order came on my door much sooner than I expected and even more impressive, the price was almost the same as if I was buying the same base model from the Nike® store!
