PIL - People I Like - #1 - photographer Nikos Rakkas

I am happy to present the first picture from my new personal project: PIL (People I Like).   The concept behind the project is that there are many young people in Greece whose work is either creative or very peculiar. Many of them are friends or acquaintances of mine, and sadly,  few get the recognition they deserve. What they have in common is they are all people I hold in high esteem, so I wanted to portray each of them in their work/capacity environment as a special homage. Like some kind of joy and optimism Pill.NotesNikos Rakkas was born in Thessaloniki. He has recently completed his latest photography project TRUE ROMANCE and he has also presented the solo exhibitions "Daydreamer" in London, "We hate it when our friends become successful" and "Common People (Like You)" in Thessaloniki. He has participated in group exhibitions and festivals  in Athens, Rome, Lemesos and Thessaloniki and he was a nominee at the European Photography Competition, organised by the National Book Centre,  for his participation in the group exhibition in Paris. He has been the recipient of the first award in many photography competitions like the Athens Voice magazine et al. His films “Common People (Like You)” and "Fan Club" featuring his beloved Playmobil figures, won the 1st prize at the Shoot It Festival for two consecutive years. He has a beautiful family and i'm proud to be his friend.

Some say we look alike a lot so we call each other "bro".
