Just a little suggestion

Rather often (actually more often than I would like to admit) I am spending my time wandering around the web. What I am usually looking for is any kind of inspiration or just the joy of admirating other photographers.

One of the best moments of these "surfing moments" is when I click on a page of a photographer I did not know before and I am amazed at the excellent work that has been done. It is on these moments that I do this little step I want to talk to you about. It is a matter of some minutes, but it can give great joy and pleasure to someone or just a smile.

To make a long story short, what I do is send these photographers a short message or email telling them how much I liked their pictures and wish them to keep up the good work.

It doesn’t seem like a lot, but I think it is really important to gift some nice words to someone we don’t know, as long as these words are sincere. Our time is valuable and spending a fraction of it to give kudos to a photographer is a great gesture in my opinion.

I myself have been a recipient of nice words from unknown people about my photography and the feeling I get every time is undescribable.

Of course all of the above can apply to every person you admire, no matter if she/he is an artist, an architect, your local hairdresser or the teacher.

Be nice to those around you.
