Beauty around us / Pelion

LAND OF WONDERS

It was exactly on such days two years ago that I was in Pelion. I had been in these parts of Greece before, for a few days a couple of decades ago, but hadn't seen much.

This time I saw a lot of amazing things.

To put it simply: Pelion is one of the places I could very happily live if I ever left Athens.

BEST COMBINATION

The combination of lush mountain, green and beaches with beautiful colours and waters is unbeatable.

Lampinou, Limnionas, Agioi Saranta, Papa Nero, Milopotamos are just some of the beaches I visited while staying at the fairytale Milies.

Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts.

A PLACE LIKE NO OTHER

I must make special mention of Damouhari. It is a unique place, difficult to describe.

It is a small picturesque village, with a beautiful bay, while at the same time there is a hidden beach on the other side with unique colours, which could well be part of the Italian coastline.

I had the great pleasure of doing a photo essay for Greece-Is about the excellent apples in the area, but I will write about that in another post.

Pelion is a place that hardly leaves the visitor unmoved.
