Marketing myself or How to avoid common mistakes at the start of your web presence - Part 1 / Logo
1,5 years ago, I decided to build my complete and dynamic online presence as a professional photographer. The results of my labor were uploaded a few months ago. I overcame many obstacles, I made a lot of mistakes and in the end I found my way. But, let’s start from the beginning. In the beginning was the Logo. PART 1 / LOGO The first victims of the Greek crisis were all creative professions.Actors, painters, sculptors, singers, writers and many more were out of a job; as well as graphic designers.I discussed with many people i know, who are graphic designers, about the creation of a logo. Unfortunately, none of them had any creative ideas and almost no one was able to estimate a price or delivery time.Disappointed, I turned to the internet and after a lot of search, I foundLogorium.Among lots of interesting works, that of Adam was the one I picked out.I immediately came in contact with him and after many emails and skype calls, I ended up with the idea of the arctic tern. I avoided the common pictures of planes, trains, ships and passports that most nature-travel photographers use.Not to mention the all common, camera. It is said that the arctic tern is the world’s greatest traveler. The average Arctic Tern lives about twenty years, and will travel about 2.4 million km! This is how it is connected with the picture I was looking for.Adam loved my idea, he sent me some drafts
and finally, we chose the one you can see, of course with the imaginary “N” that appears under the bird’s neck.
The whole process took 3 weeks, the communication was online, his payment was made via PayPal and the result is more than satisfying.I would like to think of my logo as aesthetically perfect. It states what is needed, leaving a small question mark/a small doubt. But mainly, i think that it is imprinted in your memory as something special.Or as a friend of mine says:
IT LOOKS LIKE A GIANT HUG | ART.IS.A.NEED
UPDATE:
Due to technical issues, i just changed a bit my logo to the one below.
Hope you like it...
