Chasing subjects

A few days ago I was on a photographic trip at the artificial lake of Mornos.One morning, as I wandered about, I found myself in the graphic village of Lidoriki.As I was walking down the narrow streets of the village, having shot nothing special yet, I saw a swallow. It flew in front of me for a while and then sat on a balcony across me.The balcony door was beautiful. I shot 2-3 pictures hastily, but the 55mm lens on my camera was too little for that subject. I changed it with an 80-210mm lens as fast as I could, but before I was finished…bye bye, birdie.I stood there and waited for some time, with the camera on my hands… At last, my patience was rewarded. Another swallow came and sat at the same spot, so I was able to shoot a series of images. You can see two of these displayed above.This small adventure taught me the following lessons:

• You should always carry your camera with you.

• Keep your eyes open for any possible subject, not only for the one you already have in mind.

• You should always have two different lenses with you or, even better, two different cameras with two different lenses.

• Patience will be rewarded and

• A beautiful subject can be found anytime, anywhere.
